Proxiad SEE is a software development and IT consulting company, and one of the pioneers in the Bulgarian IT sector. How would you describe your company to someone who knows nothing about it? What inspired you to start this mission?
Proxiad SEE is a company with nearly 20 years of experience in the Bulgarian IT market, evolving and growing while adding new products, services, and expertise to its portfolio. The team includes a diverse group of people with solid expertise in the sector, fostering a positive, welcoming culture. There is always someone to turn to for help and support. The workplace allows for learning and development, and the stability of the established team provides an excellent foundation for growth. Through teamwork, we have managed to achieve our goals relatively smoothly in recent years.
In how many and which countries do you operate, and what draws you to these markets? What are the unique challenges and opportunities there?
Our primary regions for product and service positioning are Western Europe and North America. We work with well-established companies that have clear ideas and goals for developing digital and software products tailored to their industries. These markets have the advantage of generating much of the innovation we see today. Their size and scale also allow for attracting investments and forming teams that quickly and effectively launch and position new products and services on a global scale.
What are the biggest challenges facing healthcare systems, and how do your technological solutions help to overcome them?
Today’s healthcare systems, especially with the development of artificial intelligence, face challenges related to the quality of data they collect and ensuring its security. It’s crucial to structure data entry, eliminate incomplete and duplicate records, and integrate data with various systems and institutions for accurate analysis and use. Ensuring data confidentiality is also essential, as such data is often a target for cyber-attacks. Additionally, regulatory and normative compliance must be guaranteed for each country or region. Data anonymization is essential for research and innovation without compromising patient privacy. Our experience with healthcare projects allows us to tackle these challenges with a structured and comprehensive approach, ensuring robust management processes, secure technologies, and infrastructure, and raising awareness among data-handling professionals.
Do you have a favorite product or service offered by your company? What makes it so special, and how does it help patients and healthcare systems?
While we are committed to developing all our products and services with great motivation, the standout feature is our new team of biomedical engineers. This is a key role at Proxiad Health Tech that differentiates us from many companies offering similar services. Biomedical engineers are highly qualified specialists who bridge medicine and technology, ensuring compliance with all standards and best practices in medical devices we develop. They are also involved in testing, with highly skilled engineers validating and ensuring that software and hardware operate flawlessly. Although biomedical engineers are rare in the market, we are actively working on developing an academy to train and develop these specialists to ensure future organizational needs are met.
How do you envision the future of healthcare in the next 10 years, and what role will your company play in it?
Healthcare is undergoing a significant revolution, with new, innovative solutions appearing daily. In 10 years, the healthcare sector is likely to be highly developed, with everything digitized, more accessible, faster, and more efficient. New medicines and treatments for various diseases will be more widely available. Alexander Milev is the CEO of Proxiad SEE and a professional with 20 years of experience in software product management, IT services, and business processes. He took the helm of the company in 2018 and, over the past six years, has introduced a range of new processes and transformations. As part of a strategy to position the company in Southeast Europe, he has expanded the service portfolio, developed and positioned new products, scaled operations in Bulgaria, and opened an office in North Macedonia. In January 2024, Proxiad Health Tech was launched, aiming to grow projects in healthcare by leveraging the expertise of IT specialists and biomedical engineers within the organization.
