On 24.02.2023 /Friday/, the Digital Health and Innovation Cluster Bulgaria (DHI Cluster Bulgaria) took part in an online conference on the topic “Digital Health – the way to empower patients and the active participation of citizens in the decisions and processes related to their own lives and health.” Mira Ganova, Executive Director of the Cluster and Dr. Rosen Dimitrov, Chairman of the Board of the Cluster, took part in the event as moderators in a discussion panel called “Digital transformation in healthcare – the role of the individual/patient.” During the panel, the role of the non-governmental sector in the digitization of healthcare was touched upon, and more specifically – the contribution of DHI Cluster Bulgaria for building a strong expert community that has the experience and expertise to support the development of the digitization process in the country.
“DHI Cluster helps build an expert community that, through its diverse expertise, contributes to a better management of the health sector. Digitalization is simply a tool that supports the creation of sustainable and efficient healthcare for the benefit of people. For this purpose, it is important to have a clear strategy for implementing digitalization, not as a technological project, but as an evolutionary process that starts with a change in the mindset, positioning technology as a tool to deal with the modern challenges of the sector. ” shared Mira Ganova, executive director of DHI Cluster Bulgaria, in response to the related question.
The event was organized by the Bulgarian Association for Personalized Medicine (BAPEMED) and brought together local and international representatives from the digital health business, medical professionals, specialists in the field of health innovation and pharmaceutical sectors, etc. The online conference was held within four hours, during which, through presentations and discussion panels, the participants discussed topics related to the digital transformation of health and, in particular, the proactive role of the individual in this process.
